Parish & Ward Church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate

Following a highly successful Parish Theological Seminar held in Rome last year, the Rector of St Botolph's along with his colleague, The Revd Dr John Turner, Honorary Assistant Priest, are planning to facilitate a Seminar in Venice in the summer of 2014.

The theme of the Seminar will be 'St Mark among the Cloud of Witnesses- Christian History and the Democracy of the Dead'.

Venice is an astonishing place and we will be using the Cityscape as a backdrop for a 'palimpsestic' approach to Christian doctrine- how layer is built upon layer in both faith and life. We will be using Mark's Gospel as our main study text- that Saint being particularly associated with Venice. We will also of course be having a very good time or fellowship and reflection in a very beautiful place.

The Seminar will begin after lunch on Friday 6th June and conclude after lunch on Sunday 8th June 2014 (Pentecost).

As before, there will be no charge for attending the Seminar. Participants must simply organise their own transport and their own accommodation in Venice. Participants are requested to join in common meals at their own expense.

At this stage the Rector is very happy to hear from interested parishioners and friends. Please contact him directly.
