Parish & Ward Church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate

Opening of St Francis at the Engine Room, Tottenham Hale

On Sunday 8 October, Churchwarden Chris Watkins and PCC member Alastair Harris represented St Botolph's at the formal opening of our partner church in Tottenham Hale. St Francis at the Engine Room is the first new purpose-built church in London in 40 years, and will provide a permanent home to the flourishing Christian community in Hale Village. The church was handed over to the congregation, and dedicated by the Bishop of Edmonton, The Rt Revd Rob Wickham. Priest Missioner Fr Andrew Williams said after the service that it was an immense privilege to see the new church and community centre finally opened to the public after many years of hard effort by countless individuals, and he looked forward to building on the work already begun to support and uplift the local population.
The photographs show the new church from the outside, the Bishop of Edmonton dedicating the church, the service and the refreshments which followed.
