Safeguarding

The parish of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate affirms the Church of England’s ‘Whole Church’ approach to safeguarding, and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all those who are vulnerable (children, young people and vulnerable adults). We expect all of our officers and staff, and those who use our premises, to share this commitment, and we value the support of those who worship here in achieving this.
You will find our Parish Safeguarding Policy below.

Although safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone here at St Botolph’s, Chris Watkins is our Safeguarding Officer and is the first person to contact if you have any concerns around the welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk. She can be contacted via the church office – [email protected] or 020 7588 3388. You can also speak to our Rector, Fr David Armstrong, via the same contact details.

If you wish to report an issue, either current or historic, and don’t feel able to approach the parish directly, contact the Diocese of London’s Safeguarding Advisers for assistance. The Safeguarding Helpline number is 020 7932 1224 and the email address is [email protected]

Out of hours advice can be sought from the CCPAS’s helpline on 0303 003 1111 where you will be able to get confidential advice, guidance and support. The contact numbers of several safeguarding agencies can be found in the document below.

Further information can be found on the Diocese of London website and on the National Church Safeguarding website
