As you may be aware, the Annual Vestry Meeting and Annual Parochial Church Meeting for St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate will take place next Thursday, 20 May at 12.45pm. Due to on-going Covid-related restrictions to public gatherings, the meetings will be conducted online, over Zoom only. I do hope you are able to attend. The New Rector
Fr David Armstrong, our Priest-in-Charge, was licensed by the Bishop of London, the Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, as Rector of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate, and was installed by the Archdeacon of London, the Venerable Luke Miller in a service of Evensong in the church at 5.30pm on Thursday 29 April. The service was open to the public with guideline social distancing being respected. A recording of the service is also available to be viewed here
Electoral Roll Revision
One of the many great strengths of the Church of England is its system of governance, from parish level to General Synod. At parish level, the Electoral Roll ensures that members of a church can shape the local mission and ministry by electing the officers necessary to do that hard work. We encourage regular worshippers at St Botolph’s to apply: even if you are already on the Roll at your Sunday or ‘home’ church, you can be on the Roll
HRH Prince Philip
Our community at St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate joins people from round the world in sending our condolences to HRH Her Majesty the Queen on the Death of her husband HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. St Botolph’s is open for private prayer from 10am to 3pm Monday to Thursday. We will be holding a Requiem Mass for Prince Philip at 1.10pm on Wednesday 14 April. Easter Message From Fr David
Easter seems to have an extra poignancy this year. As we welcome the risen Christ, we too are welcoming a new life for us all as we gently come out of Lockdown. Added to the Easter joy is the sense of hope, a sense which has been in short supply since early 2020. Court Reopening Monday 29th March
