A New Year message from Fr David
Dear Friend of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate,
On behalf of all at St Botolph’s, I wish you a very happy New Year. Sadly, the excited enthusiasm of the New Year which greeted the start of the roll-out of vaccines against the Coronavirus, has been somewhat overshadowed by a continued, and worrying increase in the number of people contracting Covid and becoming ill. My prayers are with all those affected by the virus in whatever way, and for healthcare workers, carers and essential workers, especially as we now find ourselves in a new National Lockdown.
Thankfully, Government legislation means that places of worship can continue to hold services during the Lockdown and keep their doors open for private prayer and meditation.
We at St Botolph’s will continue to be open each weekday from 10am to 3pm. We will continue to hold three Masses a week, a Said Mass on Tuesday and Thursday at 1.10pm, and a Choral Mass, with choir and sermon, each Wednesday at 1.10pm. As ever, we include prayers of intercession at all our services. If there is someone, or a situation, you would like included in our prayers, please let me know.
We take very seriously our duty for the welfare and wellbeing of those coming to St Botolph’s. As such, we have procedures in place to ensure there is minimum risk in relation to Coronavirus infection. If you do visit St Botolph’s you will be required to respect these, and wear a face-covering, unless exempt, at all times in the church building.
With God’s love and blessing for 2021,
Fr David
