St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate in now officially an Inclusive Church.  Inclusive Church is an organisation founded in 2003 that advocates for the full inclusion of all people regardless of ethnicity, gender and sexual orientation, in the Christian churches, including in the threefold order of bishops, priests and deacons.  Churches which are members of Inclusive Church celebrate and affirm every person and do not discriminate in any way.  

World Homeless Week this year culminates in World Homeless Day which falls on Sunday 10 October.  To mark the day, we at St Botolph’s will be donating the money given in donations that week to the community housing organisation St Mungo’s with whom we have close links. The St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate Homeless Hub continues to be open every second Wednesday in the church hall.  The Hub has been successful in receiving funding from the Corporation of London which will ensure the good work

Fr David Armstrong, our Priest-in-Charge, was licensed by the Bishop of London, the Rt Revd and Rt Hon Dame Sarah Mullally, as Rector of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate, and was installed by the Archdeacon of London, the Venerable Luke Miller in a service of Evensong in the church at 5.30pm on Thursday 29 April. The service was open to the public with guideline social distancing being respected.  A recording of the service is also available to be viewed here  

Easter seems to have an extra poignancy this year.  As we welcome the risen Christ, we too are welcoming a new life for us all as we gently come out of Lockdown.  Added to the Easter joy is the sense of hope, a sense which has been in short supply since early 2020.  I pray that with the roll out of the vaccinations’ programme and the lifting of restrictive guidelines we will see the return of people working in the

Dear Friend of St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate, We find ourselves at the start of Passiontide in the run up to Holy Week and Easter.  Last year in Holy Week all our churches were closed due to the pandemic.  For the first time in centuries the Liturgy of Christ’s Passion did not take place in our holy places.  I am pleased to say that this year we are once again open.
