At St Botolph’s we will celebrate the bond between humans and animals as we hold our Annual Animal Blessing Service on Friday 7 October at 12.10 pm. We hold this popular service each year on the Friday closest to the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. As ever there will be the opportunity for each animal to receive a personal blessing. The service will feature beautiful music from St Botolph’s choir and refreshments will be served
Said Reflective Mass Today 9 September at 1.10pm
Following the sad news yesterday of the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, there will be a special additional Said Mass today dedicated to her memory. This will take place at 1.10 pm, following the tolling of the church bell for an hour from noon along with those of churches across the country. St Botolph’s Advent & Christmas Charities
Alms given and collections taken during Advent and at Carol Services are divided between our chosen charities, which once again this year reflect two issues particularly highlighted by the Covid-19 pandemic: homelessness and mental health. Veterans Aid’s vision of a society in which all veterans can live with dignity and independence is only achievable because donors and supporters make it possible. Animal Blessing Service a great success
Creatures great and small, young and old, joined their human companions in St Botolph's for our annual St Francis Day Animal Blessing Service on Friday 1 October. Each animal and owner came up for a blessing and the choir sang appropriate music and led the congregation in hymn-singing. The animals were (mostly) well-behaved and after the service there were refreshments for both humans and animals. Make a note in your calendars of the date and time of next year's service
