New Lockdown and St Botolph’s

Dear Friend of St Botolph’s, in light of the Government’s decision to reimpose a form of lockdown in England, we have, by necessity revised the form of church services we can offer.

With regret, from Thursday 5 November until further notice, and at least until 2 December, we will be unable to celebrate public services in the church. We will be streaming services online only. We will have our 1.10pm Said Mass on Tuesday and our full Choral Mass with sermon on Wednesday at 1.10pm. Both can be accessed as live streams or recordings by using the link at the bottom of this message.

The church will remain open from private prayer and as a place of sanctuary from 12noon to 3pm each weekday, except when Mass is being celebrated.

It has been a difficult year for many with uncertainty only adding to anxiety. I assure you that I continue to hold the situation in my prayers daily. I pray especially for all affected by the Coronavirus, those ill, those recovering, those who will never fully recover, and for those who have died. I pray also for those who suffer from mental health issues, those who have lost their jobs, or whose jobs are no longer secure, and for all in financial difficulties. I continue to pray for our dispersed congregation wherever you may be, and for our homeless community.

With God’s love and blessing,
Fr David
