All Creatures
At St Botolph’s we will celebrate the bond between humans and animals as we hold our Annual Animal Blessing Service on Friday 6 October at 12.10 pm. We hold this popular service each year on the Friday closest to the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. As ever there will be the opportunity for each animal to receive a personal blessing. The service will feature beautiful music from St Botolph’s choir and refreshments will be served
Bartholomew Fair event at St Botolph’s
From tomorrow evening until 16th September we will be hosting an exciting projection installation on the side of the Church between 8-10pm each evening. William Byrd 400th anniversary
Yesterday, 4 July, was the 400th anniversary of the death of William Byrd, one of Britain's - and the Renaissance's - greatest composers. St Botolph's musicians pay tribute to him at today's Choral Mass by singing his Mass for five voices; the organ voluntary is also by Byrd, and the hymns are all by Byrd's contemporary Orlando Gibbons.
A new addition to the Churchyard
The Churchyard has been home for a number of pieces of art over the years as part of the Corporation of London's "Sculpture in the City" project. The Current piece Muamba Grove 0Hue#1 & #2 by Venessa da Silva was erected in June and will be in place for 12 months.
