Maundy Thursday, April 17: 7.30 pm: Solemn Mass of the Lord's Supper, followed by the Watch until midnight. Good Friday, April 18: 2.00 pm: Celebration of the Lord's Passion. Holy Saturday, April 19: 7.30 pm: The Easter Vigil. Easter Sunday, April 20: Said Mass at 8.00 am. Solemn Mass

Many of you will know that Fr David was admitted to St Thomas’s Hospital for a week at the start of December following a severe recurrence of a long-standing spinal injury - he was able with the help of strong pain medication to lead a few services later in the month, but was advised to rest at home after Christmas, so he has not been at church yet this year although he was able to do some work from home.

Our Advent theme this year is The Healing of the Nations, and our Advent and Christmas charities have been chosen to reflect this theme and our focus on mental health: collections and alms given during Advent and at carol services will be divided between The Refugee Council for its therapeutic work with refugees in London, and Beyond Conflict for a project supporting the mental health of children affected by the war in Ukraine. 2024 is a year with multiple anniversaries in the worlds of music and literature: at St Botolph’s we have already marked some of these, and there are two more significant anniversaries in September. 4 September is the exact 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Austrian composer and organist Anton Bruckner. Many of his compositions are on a large scale including his settings of the Mass, which would not work liturgically at St Botolph’s; but some of his choral works

Wednesday 12 June at 1.10pm Choral Patronal Festival Mass   All are warmly invited to join us as we celebrate our Patron S Botolph   Our Patronal Festival is one of our biggest and best celebrations of the year - the service will include choral and organ music from St Botolph’s Choir and Iestyn Evans, including Mozart’s sumptuous Coronation Mass, and will be followed by the traditional Parish Party with refreshments including Palestinian savoury and sweet delicacies, and a special St Botolph Cake created

The Rector and members of our Church Choir attended Methodist Central Hall for an Event following the Publication of findings of Sir Brian Langstaff's Inquiry into the Infected Blood Scandal. The Church has a very strong connection to the infected and affected people mentioned in the report and we are proud to have the memorial and memorial book in the Church and this takes a central roll in the annual Haemophilia service.
